The Need For Barbaric Civilization & Barbaric Citizens

Both civilization and barbarism can lead to bad things. In the negative expression of barbarism you have anarchy or animal level living and in the negative expression of civilization you have tyranny and soulless living (like the modern world). Or in today’s world you have anarcho-tyranny providing all the worst aspects of barbarism combined with the worst aspects of civilization. But as the modern world is the darkness’s crowning achievement, this isn’t much of a surprise.

What I want to lay out is the opposite of all of this. Society, culture, and people who have the barbaric virtues in spades and then lay the civilized virtues and moral virtues on top of them. Sort of like having a perfectly baked caked layered over with the best frosting that can be made. Creating a cake where the sum is greater than the parts. A holy synthesization of good things creating something great.

I’ll call this barbaric civilization and the people who embody such things barbaric citizens (though the latter part of the word sounds boring to be honest). Individuals who embody that which is good about this world and this existence. To create more warrior poets as I’ve put it before. Warrior poets with goodness and character to them. Who can cut the throat of the darkness, inspire the masses, and serve as an example all at once.

Civilize The Mind, Make Savage The Body

If I was supreme emperor of a society the first thing I would do is mandate in schooling for all that were able both reading and combat. To expand one’s mind on many different planes through the best of fiction and non-fiction. To understand human biology, culture, society to read the works of C. S. Lewis combined with Chateau Heartiste and Jack Donovan along with Oswald Spengler, Julius Evola, and many others. To read Robert E. Howard along with Shakespeare and modern masters of the craft. To civilize the mind and understand what makes good things so unique and so very very fragile.

The body would be made savage through combat, whittling away not just physical weakness and flab but spiritual weakness and flab as well. The bullies would be made humble and the weak would find strength. To do MMA, boxing, BJJ, wrestling, judo. muay thai, and learn from all applicable martial arts how to refine one’s body and mind. To top this off with basic firearm training and small unit tactics, survival skills and the like. To make savage the body.

And then to synthesize the two into something greater and higher. When these two things are being developed one can also develop things like virtue and character alongside them instead of by themselves when these things become useless parodies or just ways for the naive to be taken advantage of. Combined with a strong body and a wise mind, these things can be fruitful and be worth something.

A Kingdom That’ll Stand The Test Of Time

Know the importance of the underlying barbarian virtues and then overlay the civilized and moral virtues a top the barbarian ones. That is a society, a land, and a citizenry that will prosper and grow strong. Obviously this isn’t all that is required of course, but it is something that provides a bulwark against decay and eventual destruction. Something to stand against the darkness.

And even if such a thing never happens society wide (personally I’m not holding my breath) following such a line can make a huge difference in one’s own life. Can empower and give meaning to it in a way. Make savage the body and expand and wisen the mind. Understand how this world works so your strength won’t be futile or used against you. Likewise make savage the body so you won’t be powerless when you do understand the truth and see how the world works.

Also if you are someone who values character and virtue you know that such things matter little in a vacuum. And also must be empowered by other things surrounding it. We’ve all seen the weak, naive virtuous good person get completely waylaid by the world because of their weakness and nativity. Again good things can’t exist without stronger things surrounding them. This includes strength and wisdom. The savage and the civil.
