Creating The World That You Want

There is a cheesy overused quote that goes be the change that you want to see in the world. Usually found on some pseudo-inspiration mug or poster. However while overused and robbed of its true meaning there is a lot of power and truth to that quote. And as men this quote has unique meaning for us.

When you look around you, for better or for worse, the world around you was created by men. It is men who are the builders, movers, and shapers for the most part. It is men that create the world around you. And when you have a dislike, distaste, or even hatred for the society, culture, or even world around you it is because you wishes are opposite of the men in charge

But this is pretty obvious. The more important question is then what does one do when confronted with this. When we look out and we see very little that is worth anything, what do we do in response to it? There are many philosophies with many different answers, the vast majority of them wrong and leading to nowhere good.

The False Philosophies

There is the “mainstream” view that says that everything is in fact fine. Just numb yourself with mindless entertainment, soul numbing jobs, and just let everything go on the way it is. If things ever feel too bad then we have plenty of medication to offer so you won’t feel it anymore. The mainstream view is that everything is okay and that you should be okay with it and if you’re not then you just need to be numbed until you are.

Then there are philosophies that run counter to this. There are variations of different pills whether purple, red, or black that all have different messages with different “solutions” to the problems offered by the world around them. Unfortunately in many cases the cure ends up being as bad as the disease or at least leads to the same ultimate place.

Enjoying the decline, making money and banging bitches, and so on and so forth. Ultimately for those with souls and thumos it just doesn’t work, it just doesn’t fulfill. Something more, something deeper, and something more meaningful is needed. Some turn to religion but that offers as many problems as it does solutions as well.

Be A Creator

I think one of the most important things that you can understand as a man is that no matter how dark, hopeless, or futile things seem that there is always hope for those that fight and those that refuse to give up. It’s why we were given stories and why stories (at least the good ones) play such a huge role in our lives from an early age. If the modern world makes you feel sick and empty understand that you can recreate the world “in your own image” so to speak.

And if the various pills lead you to the exact same place, what better are they than the modern world itself? Again, there is hope and there is good that can be created, found, and protected. But you have to search for it. The very first thing that this all starts with is beginning to take mastery over yourself. Your body, mind, and spirit. If you don’t help and develop yourself than you’ll never help or develop others or the world around you.

The greatest lie is that you can’t fight, that you can’t change things, and that all hope is lost. In many ways the various pills are bigger spreaders of this lie than mainstream society as a whole. Cynicism is easy and therefore for the weak, cowardly, and small of mind. Riding out and creating the world that you want takes guts, and isn’t easy.

Slowly But Surely Shape The World

But you can carve out you only little “kingdom” in the darkness. You can carve out your own little “safe space” for yourself and those you care about. This won’t come without fighting and without work and without investing lots of time and effort into it, but it can be created and upheld. But this will require work and effort and faith in your own abilities and the vision you have (or confidence if you prefer).

It times to rise above both the vapidness of the mainstream as well as the crying pathetic weakness of the pills and ideologies like them. This world has never been friendly no friend to man. Anything good that man has wanted he has had to fight and work for. Something both those in the mainstream and alternate ideologies have forgotten. You want something good, then go out and either build or claim it.

And if not, then stop crying. For the love of God, stop crying. Complaining and manhood go together like oil and water. Men go out and change things and get shit done or shut up about it. Not sit and cry and whine. Go out and fight against the darkness and numbness or don’t but then don’t whine when it has its day and rules.
