Members Only Post #128 – When Middleclass Is Millionaire

Those of you who have been around awhile know that I’m a fan of Grant Cardone. While he can certainly be cheesy and come across as a con artist I still think his books are worth reading and that his general principles regarding sales are worth understanding. I haven’t purchased any of his super high dollar courses and probably won’t but his books you get on Amazon are certainly worth it.

One thing that I heard Cardone say that really stuck with me was “Millionaire is the new middle class.” now it’s been awhile since I heard him say that so consider that a paraphrase because it could be a little different. But you get the general gist of the idea. Now when I first heard this I figured it was a bit of hyperbole to get people motivated to learn sales and how to hustle and make money.

But now as life has gone on and I’ve seen more and more change, I don’t think that statement was hyperbole and very soon it might not be. Now, regardless of how you feel about this politically, wealth is concentrating in the Western world. You can say this is because governments are more socialist, capitalist, or communist or whatever but the fact of the matter the average person is getting screwed more and more.

What Does This Mean For You?

So what does this mean for you? This means that we’re going to have to adjust to the changing realities of the world. And one harsh reality is the a dollar/euro/peso does not go nearly as far as it used too. Now part of this is inflation and “natural”, whatever that means. But a lot of it is not and there could be trouble coming for a lot of countries and their economic situations. Won’t get into too much why that is but understand that it’s there.

However understand that it might not be long before you’ll have to be “rich” in order to live a life that’s free of high levels of crime and danger. You might very well have to be a millionaire if you want to live in a place where you don’t have to worry about getting robbed, raped, or shot, to afford food that isn’t treated with 157 carcinogenic compounds, to have health care that’s more then a “damn that sucks here’s some advil.” in the very near and rapidly approaching future.

That sounds crazy or ridiculous but it’s really not. Now I’m not saying you have to make a million a year, rather have a million in the bank. Which is relatively feasible if you make 100k plus a year and aren’t crazy on expenses. I’d say to live a normal middle class lifestyle, to the extent that it’s possible, like someone from the 1950’s in the Western world you should make around 100-150k a year. I think Cardone says/said 120k but I can’t remember exactly.

And that’s just for a somewhat normal life.

What Does This Say About Society & The World?

Well nothing good, but society and the world is made of humans and humans as a whole are pretty shitty so no surprise there. However it did lead me to wonder about a few things. For example political parties. Leftists want to be screwed over by strong governments while “rightest” want to be screwed over by large corporations and banks. They won’t openly say this but it’s there. Year to year the average “working” person gets less and less while the politicians, CEOs, and Wall Streeters get richer and richer.

Now I don’t think you have be a rocket scientist to figure out that there’s something wrong with that picture. And that it’s not going to be tenable forever, eventually people run out of juice to be squeezed. And what happens then? I don’t know and I don’t care, because that’s a long way off. It takes a very long time before people do anything about getting screwed over if ever. And if you’re counting of the “revolution” or “wakening of the masses” to save you and right things…well, you’re going to be waiting a very long time.

What I’m saying is don’t count on justice or rightness. Count of figuring out how to make more bank or to move away, to keep yourself from getting screwed. That’s what I’m saying.

What You Can Do

Well to sound like a broken record the first thing is to learn the money skills, the money skills being sales/persuasion, copywriting, and marketing. My go to suggestion when it comes to making money is commission based sales jobs with high ticket items. In plain English this means go sell boats, RVs, homes, or cars, something that costs a lot. Don’t sell knives or hair care products, you know? And while I think that’s a banger of a recommendation, obviously you’ll need more guidance than that.

So the other thing is limiting expenses. There are two big ways to do this. The first is to move. Get out of the Western world. That’s option number one and it’s what many are thinking of. Retire in another country go to Mexico, the Philippines, or somewhere else, I don’t know what’s safe and low cost anymore. Read around, do some research, and you should be able to figure it out. The second big way to do this is stop living a consumer lifestyle.

Don’t buy big ticket items, you know the ones I’m telling you to sell, live below your means. Maybe have some goats or chickens or grow a garden, make your own clothes, whatever you can do to cut down on expenses and live as low cost as possible. Hard to do but worth it. Those are the two biggest ways I can think of.

So you’re going to need to increase your income, which is number one and the most important thing. Number two is you’re going to need to cut down on expenses, which is the second most important thing. Let me repeat that “Increasing income is MORE IMPORTANT than cutting expenses.” but obviously both should be done as much as possible.

Adapt Or Die

Is the motto of the world. Now with these economic realities becoming more and more pronounced with each passing day it’s time to start thinking about all of this. What are you going to do? Move away? Restructure your finances? Now you may be thinking “Charles, if things keep this way I’ll be screwed.” and I feel for you, I felt the exact same way and am still working to free myself from what’s coming.

Just don’t think for a moment that the government, banks, and corporations won’t screw you harder than anything’s ever been screwed in their life. They have no care, concern, or anything good for you. Just something to keep in mind.
