The Truth About Karma

It blows me away how grown people who are otherwise smart, savvy, and wise in a way can believe in a concept such as karma. The idea where if you do bad things that “universe” (or whatever) will punish you and if you do good things then the universe (or whatever) will reward you. Now if you asked these people if they believed in the tooth fairy or Santa Claus they’d laugh at you.

But an equally ridiculous idea such as karma they accept wholeheartedly. Now I can understand “karma” in a sense where if you’re a horrible person you’ll have trouble sleeping at night for the things that you have done (many conservative types delude themselves with this) but this is not true either. Plenty of people have raped, murdered, pillaged, and killed and then slept like a baby til the end of their happy days.

Granted that idea makes a little bit more sense than the whole “universe” one but still it’s pretty far fetched. People with conscious are becoming rarer and rarer. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing considering outside of one’s tribe having a conscious is a liability more than anything else. But with all of this being said there actually is a sort of “karma” that exists in the world and in nature. It’s just not what one usually thinks of when one thinks of karma.

The True Karma Of The World

Now I can understand karma being used the same well hell or the boogeyman is used. Getting people to behave or bad things will happen to them. The problem is when people find out that this isn’t how the world works or even worse when they think this is how the world works far long periods of time (sometimes one’s entire life). Leading to all sorts of foolishness.

So while there is a sort of “karma” it has nothing to do with a certain moral code or with general “goodness”, whatever the hell that means. Nor does it have to do with following what is generally outlined as a conscious. It has to do with namely two things. Strength and wisdom. Or not being weak and not being stupid. Two of the truest laws that have ever been spoken.

This is karma. When you act weak that is when “karma” will come back on you and “get you” when you act stupid that is when “karma” will also come back on and get you. Strength and wisdom are the “morality” of nature. And two things where karma actually has an effect. Otherwise it’s just childish nonsense that has little meaning for one’s life (unless one is manipulating others).

Abiding By Karma

So how does one get karma, true karma, to work in one’s favor? It’s pretty simply actually. Don’t be weak and don’t be stupid. If you have a family raise you children (daughters as well as sons, far too many go soft on their daughters then wonder why they turned out a certain way) to know these things and teach them these lessons young. It’ll be more important than any lesson they learn at school, I can guarantee you that.

This isn’t to say that having a conscious or moral systems don’t have a place. They absolutely do and should be a part of one’s life. However just understand that these things (having a conscious and a moral system) are simply icing on the cake or even better the cherry on top. They are not the main course, they are not the main thing. They are nice to haves, not need to haves.

They are the civilized virtue that don’t work unless the primal virtues are the foundation that they are built upon. It sort of reminds me of the whole a man must first be a man before he can be a gentleman, otherwise he’s just a dork. Wisdom and strength first then you have “nice things” so to speak. Otherwise forget about it and always understand how true karma actually works.
