My original plan was to stop writing for this site at about article 1,000, switch it over to a membership site and go on about my life. However after seeing the impact that it has made and the changes that it has wrought in those who read it I’m reconsidering parts of this. Not so much the membership part (something I’ll talk about below) but the quitting part. Speaking frankly I don’t think there’s a better site out there for no nonsense masculine self-development period. Not a single site covers the myriad of topics that I do the way that I do.
I don’t say this as one of those guys who says they’re the best over and over again to convince the weak minded that they are, rather I am simply stating facts. This article here will be article number almost 900 (depends when I put it out and if anything pressing comes up between now and then that I feel I have to write about). Meaning that that 1000 mark is fast approaching and things will be changing sooner rather than later. Though this site is rewarding with my current time commitments I can’t keep running it as a charity. But it’s more than just that.
Why The Switch
So yes monetary concerns are a factor. Well more time concerns but they add up to the same thing. Selling cheap books on amazon and a couple e-books doesn’t make much money. Another thing is that giving advice for free never works out very well. No one values it and even if they do most fail to act on it. By paying for the content you’ll value it much higher and be much more likely to implement it. Therefore getting a far better value from the work that I put out and it’ll change more lives. Which is a big part of why I’m continuing to do this.
So in this way I’ll be able to keep making content while making some money and you’ll get even higher value from the content when I put it out. Second I also want to keep out the crazies. We live in a world where people are becoming more and more unstable as well as the political vice grip keeps tightening around those with sane minds. A few years from saying something like “Men and women are different” might be you ostracized by the community you live in and effect the lives of your friends and family. Do not underestimate the craziness of those who are against us.
Because of this I like to keep things behind a paywall. I can be more honest, while keeping the crazies out. So again in order to attract the best people and keep investing time in this it needs to pay better. Second by paying the content will be valued more and actually acted upon more creating more value for everyone involved. And finally it’ll serve to keep out the crazies. It’ll be our fortress to discuss how the world actually works and how we can best function in it.
When Will This Happen & What’s The Cost
I’m still planning on hitting 1000 articles before setting it over to a membership site. I have a few more books I want to put out as well (even though they make very little money). And I think I’ll have a nominal fee for all of you that have been around awhile and then a different fee after it’s been switched over for a couple months. I’m still not sure how this is all going to work out but I do know that I need to do something different with the site. There’s still quite a few things I have to figure out about how to run all of this and how to communicate with you best.
But this is a plan for the future that I wanted you to be aware of. Again not sure what the ultimate cost will be or what it needs to be and what the format will be.
