The Only 25 Self-Improvement Books That A Man Needs To Read Part 2

As I was writing this I realized that this may end being more than the three part series that I intended it too be, but we’ll see. We left off with mindset and so are going to pick up right there. So far the mindset books that I’ve recommend are The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale, As A Man Thinketh by James Allen, and What To Say When You Talk To Yourself by Shad Helstetter. Let’s keep the list going.

Mindset Book #4 – The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy

Of all the mindset books I’d say Murphy’s is the one that stretches most into hyperbole. According to Murphy you could probably levitate small islands with the power of the subconscious mind. While I don’t think that’s true at the same time understanding the power of the subconscious mind and the basis of how it works is absolutely essential to success in life. The subconscious mind is incredibly powerful and perhaps the single biggest determinant of where you end up in life. Do not underestimate its power. You need a understanding of how it works and this book will give it too you.

Mindset Book #5 – Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz

Two notes on this book. First I honestly couldn’t think of a worse, more misleading name, for it. And two I’ve only read the old version, have no idea if the new messed it all up. But regardless Psycho-Cybernetics is one of the best books for reshaping how you see yourself and your place in the world. It goes deep into how the mind actually works and how to reprogram it for the success that you want in life. It ties together many of the ideas discussed in the other four books and is a mindset book I don’t think any man should be without.

The Top 5 Books On Masculinity

Masculinity is a topic that so many people are confused about today. From misunderstanding what it is, misunderstanding the importance of it, and misunderstand what it means. This is the “field” I’ve done the most work in and one that I feel is incredibly important. Understanding what it means to be a man and what manhood actually is, is important for every male to learn. And also to understand that one must become a man, one doesn’t naturally grow into being a man.

Masculinity Book #1 – The Way Of Men by Jack Donovan

Not much of surprise here but I feel Jack does a good job of laying the ground work of what masculinity is on a primal level and what that means for us today. This helps you get the bare bones basics of masculinity and the “root” from which it stems. You’ll see that masculinity is not something that is moral or immoral but something that simply is. And why it’s important for men to reclaim their masculinity and be proud of it. As a side note would also recommend his other works.

Masculinity Book #2 – Werewolf Manifesto by Paul Waggoner

A short little book and I’d recommend reading Paul’s other works too, especially the transmissions, but this is the best starter to it. What The Way of Men laid out in “theory” this books help lay a game plan for taking that theory and translating it to reality. This is the deed portion of masculinity. This book will challenge you to improve yourself yes but it goes beyond that. It goes into the core of becoming more of a man, reclaiming the power you felt you’ve lost, and being the best man that you can be in the least possible cheesy version of that phrase.

Masculinity Book #3 – No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert A. Glover

Some would consider this a dating book but there’s a couple of thing’s I’d say to that. First off masculinity and attraction are so inter-related its crazy. Guys who are masculine, in the true sense of the word, don’t have worries about getting laid or getting dates because of who they are. Attraction stems from masculinity. But regardless this book does a more “professional” approach to masculinity and is a bit more accessible for the average person. Regardless it’s one that ever man should have, even if they don’t think they’re a nice guy at all.

Masculinity Book #4 – Made To Lead by Robert Cossins

I can already hear the sacrilege, how dare you include a book on marriage in books about masculinity. But hear me out, so yes this book is about marriage and about marriage from a “Christian” perspective. Yet at the same time it does a good job of laying around of the ground rules for masculinity. Sure there’s a lot of material about what to look for in a wife and what “Godly” marriage is but there’s also a lot of overlap with being a man. A recommended read.

Masculinity Book #5 – Might Is Right by Ragnar Redbeard

This is not a book you should take 100% literally, there’s a lot of hyperbole in it, but at the same time it points out a whole hell of a lot of truths that people would rather not see. The world around you is controlled by the strong and the weak perish and nature declares this good. This doesn’t mean you need to lop of your neighbor’s head and claim his wife, but at the same time as a man you need to understand the realities of this world. While ranting, this book does a good job of that.

The Top 5 Books On Attraction

This is the most popular section, because there’s a ton of guts out there who’s number one question is “how do I get laid” or “how do I get laid more”. Sex and “getting girls” is a fundamental part of every males life, anyone who denies this is not living in reality. For a man to understand this is important, otherwise men spend their entire lives chasing after this instead of focusing on things that are important. These books will get the bases covered.

Attraction Book #1 – The Manual by W. Anton

In my opinion the best single book out there, that I haven’t written, on the underlying dynamics of what attracts women to men and how a man can harness this to the best of his ability, while still remaining a man and not playing games. This book is laid out pretty clearly and straightforwardly, it doesn’t have any of the PUA bullshit that designed to take your money and leave you dateless. It’s all to the point real truths that every man should understand.

Attraction Book #2 – Models by Mark Manson

Not a big fan of Mark Manson in general, however this book in particular has some good advice in it. Not all of it which is why I recommend The Manual first but still its filled with good tried and true advice. It The Manual is the base from which to work from then this book is the polishing on top of it. It’ll give you more tools and more important than that understanding of how the mating/dating game works and what it all means.

Attraction Book #3 – The Red Queen by Matt Ridley

If you want a scientific basis for how the dating and mating game works then this book is for you. This is the book that started most of the work in this field and that a lot of the modern “instructionals” stem from, often misinterpreting the original data. Go to the source and read it for yourself instead of reading all the cheap knockoffs. Pretty well written for a science book didn’t find myself getting bored all that much and stays on topic. Well worth a read to understand all of this stuff better.

Attraction Book #4 – Heartiste On Game by Heartiste

Here’s my issue with manosphere writers on women, if that’s all you read you’ll think all women are raging sluts who are just waiting for their chance to screw a man over, which does not match reality. However at the same time they do a good job of showing you what is out there and to always keep your eyes open. Heartiste does a great job breaking down the psychology of, unfortunately, a great proportion of women today. And if you’re entering the modern dating and mating field it’s knowledge you shouldn’t be without. Just don’t forget to take a few pinches of salt along with you.

Attraction Book #5 – The Secrets Of Female Sexuality by David Shade

At first I was going to include a novel here like The Story Of O by Pauline Reage or 9 1/2 weeks you can understand the type of sex and desire that women want. Spanking, light choking, pinning, and just overall dominating and all of that. You know screw her like a man, not like a boy, and all of that. Shade’s book does a good job of laying this all out. I will warn you a huge percentage of it is testimonials which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, you’ll understand when you read it. A good overall introduction to the topic that you’ll want to check out.

Stay Tuned For More…

This is getting pretty long so we’ll cut it off here for now. So there’s thirteen more books for your perusal. We’ll see if we can’t cover the rest in the third installment. Now you should have a firm basis in mindset, masculinity, and attraction, we’ll look to at least get through wealth in the next. Until then pick some of these books up and starting reading, and start changing your life.

If anything I said here interests you I’d highly recommend you check out The Ultimate Alpha Collection which is a compilation of 16 of my books for the price of 5.
