Now I could be misinterpreting this but one thing that a preacher man said to me (well the congregation) when I was young that the governing bodies of the world belonged to Satan and that was something that always stuck with me regardless of how my beliefs have grown and change since that time. Doesn’t matter what stripe that is worn the business of politics is a dirty business where the people always lose.
Something I have noticed more and more is the importance that politics has been given in our culture. Before people had their political views and it might be this way or it might be another but it really wasn’t that big of deal one way or the other. Wheres now politics has become a focal identity for many and a tool to drive a great wedge between people.
Something else that I’ve noticed is that those who get so involved in politics and take their identity from it very often are missing a whole lot in their lives. Doesn’t matter which side they wave the flag for or who they vote for or what cause they support they’re all essentially the same and lead to the exact same place.
The SJW Obsession
I’ll give you an example of this. Many young males (especially those influenced by the manosphere and their satellite ideologies) become obsessed with SJWs, feminists, and the like. Their world focuses around a “war” with these people and defining themselves in opposition to them. Now obviously I’m not saying SJWs, feminists, and the like are great and you should be like them because that’s just the flipside of the coin.
What I am saying is that if you’re defining yourself by politics you’re missing out on a whole lot of life. In many ways the MAGA hat wearing, Jordan Peterson listening, dresses up in cosplay to fight antifa guy is just as bad as the people he rails against. Obsession with politics and defining oneself by it whether through “alt-right” (or whatever they call themselves) or by communism or whatever else just lowers everyone.
Man was not meant to be defined by a political ideology. And all politics lower man. I chose to write about this now because I see more and more 20-something males who take bits and pieces of the manosphere or again satellite ideologies (all of which I have my issues with) and end up becoming incomplete individuals. Their growth and development is stifled and they become as low as that which they claim to fight against.
You Always Lose With Politics
Something to understand is that with politics (unless your the politician or part of the system) is that you, the person, the voter, are always going to lose no matter what. And that mass ideologies are designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator (simply how things work in a democracy) and therefore by adopting these ideologies and defending them you essentially can’t do anything but lower yourself in some way, shape, or form.
This isn’t to say that there can’t be issues that matter to you, obviously there are and obviously politicians know this. Just understand that politicking never solved much except making the richer richer, the powerful more powerful, and the corrupt more corrupted. Which does nothing to enhance your life or develop yourself as a man and as a person.
And this applies both ways to both sides. Those shouting MAGA with their red hats and those shouting curses at Trump with their pink ones and any an all between. And this goes beyond American politics as well, I’m talking about politics in general. Understand the D.C. and the rest of the world is going to do what it’s going to do and it’s not going to be in your benefit. So live your life and focus on the things that you can control. You’ll be better for it.
