Members Only Post #145 – Where’s Your Line In The Sand?

There’s an old country song that goes if you don’t stand for something you’re fall for anything and there’s another that goes justice is the one thing that you should always find. I want to talk a little bit about the relation between these two things and what it means to your life as a man. We live in a age where conviction of anything but a few select preapproved neutered values is seen as evil on one hand and foolish on the other.

For example. On one hand we’re told those from honor cultures are backwards, evil, and awful whether that’s people who follow the Islamic religion or people living in rural areas of the Americas. On the other hand we’re told something like honor is a foolish outdated concept, something to laugh at and make fun of. Just not something to take seriously.

Where other “virtues” like tolerance are promoted because they don’t threaten anything. A man who can tolerate anything is a man without conviction and a man who’ll allow anything to happen. A man who’ll bend over and lay down for anyone and anything. Which in my book is a vice certainly not a virtue. We live in a time when anything good is either laughed at or said to be evil.

And because of this many abandon all beliefs either because they don’t want to be ridiculed, they don’t believe in them, they think they’re evil, or they simply don’t care enough to have them.

And this is a damn shame.

A Man, His Beliefs, & That Line In The Sand

A man without something he’ll stand for, something he’ll fight for, even something that he’d die for isn’t much of a man. I’d say it’s essentially impossible to be a man without convictions and belief of any sort. A man has to have a backbone in all facets of his life. I hear a lot of talk of not letting a woman run all over you or other men and I certainly agree with that. But what about the media? Governments, politicians, and other corrupters of the world around you? Why is it not okay to let a woman run over you but allow Hollywood or the news media or whoever else to do so?

Wrong is wrong and right is right. And a man who doesn’t say something’s wrong when its wrong and something’s right when its right has got something he’s missing from his life. This is what I’m asking you. What is your line in the sand what are the things that you say you don’t cross? What beliefs do you have, what things do you believe in and think are worth defending. Because if the answer is nothing then you have a problem and have to do some deep searching.

Like we were talking about above what are the things to you that are worth defending, worth fighting for, worth standing up for, worth taking flak for, even worth dying for? I know its easy to be cynical and say nothing is worth that but that’s just not true. And I think deep down every man knows that. That’s one of my big problems with the black pill, that are the whole wallowing in whining. But that’s another topic entirely.

What’s worth fighting for? Because if someone is willing to fight for something then there’s hope for that thing.

And that’s what they never want you to understand.

Find Your Line, Draw It, And Be Ready When Its Crossed

What are your convictions? What are the good things that you don’t want to see snuffed out from this world? Because trust me when you sit down and think about it, when you’re not numbed by all the bullshit, there are a hell of a lot of things that are worth fighting for. There is beauty, goodness, and worthiness in this world, things that are worth standing up and knuckling down for. And one of the most important things that you can do is fine those things and understand the importance of them.

So think about it. Throw out that bullshit that everything is evil and awful and pointless. Look a majority of things might be evil, awful, and pointless, maybe even 99% of things but all that means is that you have to find that 1%. That 1% that’s worth a damn and worth fighting for. It’s out there but you have to get up and get after it. And once you discover those things that are worth a damn and worth fighting for then draw that line around those things and let it be know than anything that comes to harass, molest, or harm those things has to deal with you.

Because there has to be something that is sacred in a man’s life. And there has to be something in a man’s life that he’ll fight for beyond mere survival. Find this thing, it’ll be life changing and that’s no hyperbole. So what is it? What is it that you’ll fight for? What is it that when someone crosses that line you’ll address it? You have to have convictions, you have to have something you’ll ride out for.

Otherwise, what’s the point?

Find these things, draw that line, and be ready to defend it.

Simple as that.
