How To Separate Truth From Lies

There was an old saying that went something along the lines of a lie gets halfway around the world before the truth even has a chance to put its pants on. Granted it’s often attributed to a politician so he’d know more than anyone but the statement remains a fact. With all the modern agendas and those that are paid good money to promote it (and having both sides of a “debate” controlled) it’s becoming harder and harder to seperate what is true from what is false.

Combine that with historical knowledge, knowledge gained from research, and just knowledge in general being incomplete and never whole simple because of how humans work. How are we to make sense of anything in this world? We could do what the average person does and just believe everything our schools, media, and religions tell us. Or we could be just as dumb and simply do the opposite of whatever our schools, media, and religions tell us because we’re mad at them. But that’s still reacting and not thinking for oneself.

And that’s not going to get us anywhere. So what do we do? Is this task even possible? I know people think we live in an unprecedented era with fake news and corrupted governments and all that but the truth is none of that is new, though it is coming into new forms. Sort of like an old virus that is mutating and evolving. But the basic thing remains the same. Truth has been elusive and hard to find at all times, our own is not any different.

Thinking For Yourself, Expanding, & Refining

Remember the axiom “If you want something done right then you have to do it yourself?” I hope so because it’s relevant to our discussion here. If you want truth then you’ll not find it from any one source, and that’s just a fact. You’re going to have to become like a detective and go over every small little detail and gather facts from a variety of sources and even then the picture that you have will never be completely right because man cannot attain all the facts, we live by faith (whether we consider ourselves faithful or not).

This probably sounds like a lot of work and that’s because it is and that’s one of the biggest reasons why places like the media, school, and what not can spread whatever the want and label it “true” because most people are too damn lazy to question it. My recommendation if you truly seek truth is to gather as information as you can from a variety of sources. Learning and experiencing more and more and seeing patterns that match up. Pattern recognition is one of the most valuable assets when it comes to seeing truth.

Pattern recognition is something that it takes time to develop but once you do you’ll start noticing a whole lot of things. I don’t know exactly how one develops pattern recognition other than simply keeping one’s eyes open through life and expanding one’s mind (through things like reading and learning) but maybe that’ll be a topic for another article sometime.

Soft Spots & Tacitus

I do know there are a couple things to help distinguish the truth when it comes to politics, social ideologies, and the world around you. One is seeing what people get angry about. Generally when someone has a angry reaction to something you’ll know that you’ve hit somewhere close to the truth. Granted this doesn’t do much to tell you the truth as a whole but it can help with truth in individual matters. Next we come to truth in social and political matters.

There are those that control what is okay to think and say and what is not. There has been a battle raging every since man has been on this earth and before. There are many names and myths for this but it’s there. Two ways of viewing existence, granted there are many others but two predominant ones. But regarding finding truth in social and political matters it’s wise to figure out who’s running the show and therefor the biases and such they’ll promote and why they’ll promote them.

For example why did an organization like the CIA which is predominantly male promote a ideology like feminism so hard? Was this a bad thing? Was this a good thing? And so on and so forth. And also keep in mind what Tacitus said “If you want to know who controls you see who you may not criticize.” a quote that ruffles quite a few feathers but that should say something as well. For example is it’s said the X controls us yet open hatred of X is allowed then it’s probably not X. But if all discussion of Y is banned then maybe it’s Y. And so on and so forth. Logic, deduction, and all of that.

The Truth Is Out There

There is such a thing as truth. I don’t know if it’s coming from a “working class” (what the hell does that even mean? Is there a class that doesn’t have to work? Aside from parasite class of course) or just having high levels of testosterone but the whole “truth doesn’t exist” thing never rang with me. Truth does exist, it’s there for anyone with eyes to see. But not only does it take work to get at but it takes the development of the mind (and spirit) to understand and attain.

It’s not an easy thing to get but then again nothing that’s worth it is. This isn’t the final word on truth (that’s not man’s place anyways) but just a primer if you will on how to go about finding it and developing the skills required too find it in the first place. We live in a world of lies that the father of lies rules over, at least for the time being. Filled with a ruling class of liars that stretches worldwide. But that doesn’t mean that truth isn’t out there. It is and you can find it.

And never forget it is the truth that will set you free.
