How To Recognize Evil In The World & In Yourself (Legends Of Men)

This is a great guest post (my favorite actually) from Jared Trueheart of Legends Of Men. A site dedicated to masculine literature, fighting evil, and masculine development as a whole. In this article Jared is going to cover I think the most important topic that has ever been covered on this site and ever could be. Read it, let it sink in, and enjoy!

Clown world. So often when we turn on social media or any news media source we think these words. We may even utter them aloud. When we think about clown world we think of a world that has inverted the very nature of good and evil. Any and every human society used to take active measures to prevent evil from spreading and to promote noble virtues in the populous. In our clown world, the opposite is true.

The first question we must ask, now that we can recognize that something is wrong with our world is “how do we recognize evil?” To do this, and to restore some sense of nobility, we must learn how to recognize evil in our society as well as in ourselves.

The Subversion of Logos

Logos is one of the greatest words to ever be spoken. I learned of the term from Catholic scholar Dr. E. Michael Jones. He has many youtube videos on the history and meaning of Logos. At its most basic level, Logos represents the natural order of the universe or the ultimate state of reality. Evil is achieved when the natural order is intentionally subverted.

There is a natural order to life and to nature. Predators hunt prey. This seems obvious until some outside force attempts to tell you that predators do not need to eat prey; they can eat veggie burgers. This is a silly example but it’s analogous to what is happening in our clown world society. Some examples will serve to demonstrate the nature of evil. Why are drag queen story hours evil?

The nature of sex roles is such that men dress like men and women dress like women and never do they cross-dress. When men dress like women we recognize that something is wrong, that sex roles are being intentionally subverted. Furthermore, drag queens especially subvert the nature of female beauty. Drag queen shows celebrate an ugly exaggeration of female beauty. They wear garish, frightening make-up and mimic female sensuality with overt sexual performances. Thus, they intentionally invert the nature of male appearance and male sex roles but also subvert the nature of feminine beauty.

What’s worse, and what makes these story hours obviously evil, is that they seek to normalize these inversions by teaching them to children. Through intentional indoctrination, drag queens are teaching children that their inversions are not immoral. Thus they are adding another inversion; they teach children to invert the nature of masculinity, to invert the nature of female beauty, and to invert the nature of morality. This is evil.

By recognizing that nature, humanity, and the cosmos have Logos, we can begin to identify that Logos and understand when someone is trying to invert it. Sometimes this appears at the gut level. You don’t need a system to tell you that pedophilia is evil. A little analysis will show that pedophiles invert the nature of sexuality by forcing asexual humans (children) to perform sex acts. The nature of childhood and sexuality is thus inverted. The system is there if you need it, though sometimes you can just trust your gut.

Often times, however, you cannot. This is because of the nature of evil.

How Evil Spreads

Evil is never promoted honestly. No one will ever appear on primetime television and earnestly tell their audience to hail Satan. Evil does not spread by promoting evil. Evil spreads by disguising itself as virtue and promoting that virtue. The best example I can give of this are the sex workers that invert the Logos of sexual relationships. We’ll use my favorite example, pornography.

The Logos of human sexuality is serial monogamy. That’s hard for some to hear but it’s the truth. There’s a reason jealousy exists and it doesn’t matter if jealousy evolved or if it was made in us by a divine creator. Jealousy reflects that natural order, the ultimate reality of our sexual relationships, serial monogamy. Porn intentionally subverts our conception of human sexuality. By enticing our lusts and providing exaggerated visual and aural cues of intense sexual pleasure, porn changes our conception of what women want in men and what men can expect from women.

Pornography exploits our desire for sex and glorifies promiscuity at the expense of serial monogamy. It makes men (and to a lesser extent, women) desire variety above intimacy. This is an intentional subversion, and thus evil, enough, but porn does more damage. It also subverts the natural will of man to attain a sexual relationship with a woman by simulating sexual stimuli thus allowing men to masturbate and sate their natural desire to mate with a woman. It inverts the entire nature of sexual relationships so much so that it even prevents husbands from having sex with their wives. Thus porn is evil.

Yet, pornography is glorified. It is celebrated. Sex workers are not shunned like they used to be; they are now celebrated. They get married. They appear on television. Women in the porn industry treat it as a form of female empowerment. Feminism (itself an inversion that has taken hold of governments) promotes sex work as a legitimate means of female empowerment. This is how pron, and evil, spreads. It is disguised in a cloak of virtue and presented to the masses  (including pre-teen children) on their smartphones.

Recognizing Evil in Yourself

This is the hardest part. Virtually no one wants to think of themselves as evil, or even that they do evil things. This is often the case though. Through effective propaganda that exploits our vices, we have come to believe that the evil things we do are not evil. For single adults, this often involves casual sex. As men, it makes us feel good and we glorify each other for successfully banging scores of hoes but it undermines the Logos of sexual relationships and enables women to do the same.

Another easy trap for a man can be seen when he lets his woman contribute to the bills too much. The Logos of manhood is such that a man is a patriarch, the provider, and the protector of his family. If a man lets his woman earn too much money for the family, and especially if the woman earns more than him, he is inverting the Logos of his masculine sex role. He is essentially making the woman act out the man’s roles as the provider. This is evil and usually leads to infidelity, divorce, or a lack of respect for a man from his woman (a subsequent inversion of Logos).

As men of noble worth, masculine men who value good and wish to triumph over evil, we must recognize that we are not immune to these inversions. Through brutally honest introspection, we can begin to identify our flaws and correct them. We may not be able to fix this clown world, but the least we can do, for it is our duty, is to ensure that we do not contribute to this clown world. The best we can do is to help others so that they do not contribute evil as well.
