Okay not gazillions but how to make an appreciable income online through blogging and the written word (not quite as catchy of a title though). There are millions of ways to make money online, some of them effective, some of them not so effective. There are people out there making six figure incomes through kindle books, ebooks, affiliate marketing, drop shipping, coaching and consulting, and a whole lot more.
However just because someone is successful with these things doesn’t necessarily mean that you should rush out and copy them. There are many factors that go into being a success in any field and despite what most gurus would like to admit luck and time are two huge factors with anyone. After all back in the day you could have become a millionaire through buying and selling domains quite easily (well easy as far as becoming a million goes), however now that would be much much harder.
What I’m going to show you may or may not work for you, though it’s worked well for me. If you put in the time and effort it could yield some results for you, however if you expect it to make you a millionaire (or even a normal 40-60k income) overnight then you’ll be quickly disappointed. But let’s get on to the formula.
Step #1 – SEO Articles
Search engine optimization and understanding keyword research is important for getting any website off of the ground. You need to get a keyword research tool of one sort of another and start finding out what your niche is searching for (you have picked a niche right?). What you’ll find is often what people are searching for is very different than what you think they are.
Then start writing articles with these keywords in mind. You want to choose keywords that have relatively low competition but relatively high search value. Obviously there will be a compromise but the main idea is don’t go for keywords that have million of competitors and don’t go for keywords that have no one searching for them. Somewhere in the middle and as close to your niche as possible is the way to go.
Also make sure to understand basic copywriting and make those headlines dazzle, they’re the most important part.
Step 2 – See Traffic Patterns
There needs to be a bit of time between step 1 and step 2. You should constantly be writing more and more SEO rich attention grabbing articles to help fill up your site while also have something like Google Analytics or WordPress Popular Post installed so you can start seeing where traffic is gathering and what people’s interests are. I’ll use this site as an example. While I write about all sorts of things from picking up girls to masculinity to combat and more the vast majority of my traffic comes from the “attraction” pages.
In particular the Ultimate Guide To Dominating Women In The Bedroom gets the vast majority of views 100 of times what many other pages get. And things related to dominance are all always up there as well. Now what does this tell me? Well it tells me that people are much more interested in dominating women (in a good way) than they are in copywriting, masculinity, or mindset. At least for my site and my SEO.
Step 3 – Make Product To Address Need
Now comes the next part. After analyzing where traffic is gathering and what people’s interests are you need to make a product to address those needs and of course make lots of cash (ideally). So with my example I need to get off my lazy butt and write a how to dominate women in the bedroom ebook and put it up on those pages to monetize that traffic that they’re already getting.
Do the same with your site. Maybe it’s an ebook, maybe it’s a coaching program, maybe it’s a online course, maybe it’s affiliate marketing. Try to make the revenue per transaction as high as possible. Meaning don’t make a kindle or paperback book those are for getting traffic not making money. I’ll repeat that paperback and kindle books are for getting traffic and building authority not for making a dime from. The more money you get from each transaction the better.
As a side note most gurus make 50%+ of their income from a select few coaching clients then all of their various products combined. All the products generally are for is to filter the clients down to them. Why you need to have high priced products for ultra-responsibe clients (where you’ll make 50-90% of your income from).
Step #4 – Repeat
Repeat can mean a couple of different things. It could mean keep writing articles for the same site, see where traffic gathers, and repeat or it could mean repeating over with a brand new site. Just keep going. One product rarely ever makes someone all the money that they need.
So there you have it, how to make a somewhat appreciable to six figure income online. Man, I really need to start charging more for access to this site. Seriously this is better than what you’ll find in 99% of expensive courses.
And I really need to offer some high ticket coaching…anyone interested?
