How To Have More Self-Control & Why It’s Important

Religion gets a of hate and some of it I understand. Religion has certainly gone haywire at different times and is certainly in no way the end all be all of a society or nation. However I think a lot of the hate is undeserved and that religions as a whole have hit upon some very fundamental truths that can really improve a man’s life.

As a matter of fact I think the biggest problem with religions is in their quest to grow that they allow anyone to be believers and how they say all are equal, not all religions do this but the biggest ones do, and therefore it attracts the lowest common denominator to be its follower. Religion is a quantity over quality game.

And therefore you have all sorts of people you’d never want to be like professing to follow the tenets of a religion yet are nothing but fools, cowards, perverts, and more. And therefore the religion and its tenets get discredited, even when in a normal person’s hands, they could improve his life and cause good things to grow.

Why Control Your Baser Instincts?

One of these things religion puts a big focus on is controlling your baser/animal instincts and channeling them in the right direction. To funnel them into good things instead of wallowing in them like a pig in the mud. I was thinking of this recently with thinking about of the biggest ironies of feminism. Many don’t like the hear this but feminism was brought around by men, not women. It was men who built and created and promoted feminism and the reason that its around today.

Some of the biggest promoters of feminism, aside from people who wanted the world destabilized, were beta males, beta males who thought that “free love” and the like would get them more access to sex. They were being controlled by a baser instinct. However what happened is that it just freed up women to have sex with more alpha males with a little trickle going to beta males. Ironic but that’s what happens.

I’m not saying that’s the only cause of feminism but just one irony of it. The point I’m getting at is that when one is controlled by their baser emotions whether lust, greed, envy, sloth, etc. etc. it doesn’t lead to good things. That doesn’t mean that these base instincts are bad, not at all, they’re good in the proper context. Rather it’s that they make horrible drivers but good engines if that makes sense.

How To Control Yourself & Ascend To The Next Level

Smoke weed everyday, working a dead end job, watching porn, playing video games, and doing nothing else with your life. This does not produce good fruit, I know many in the manosphere would hate me for saying that but beware anyone who hates you for speaking truth. Man was meant to work, to produce, and to go further. Not for pussy as many believe but for himself, for the spirit that strives inside of him.

You must master yourself to live a good life.

The first thing you need is discipline. Discipline is built through consistency, through doing things day in and day out regardless of how you feel. I’m going to repeat that “Discipline is built through doing things day in and day out, regardless of how you feel.” So even when sick, tired, horny, lazy, or whatever else. You keep doing it and you keep putting in the work.

Discipline is the start of self-control. Start with something small. Workout every day, even a small workout. That’s better than working out hard twice a week for building discipline. Find something small and do it daily. And then do that day in and day out for years. Start small and build from there. Find one habit and work to forge it. Then move on to another and another and another.

And build your life and self-control this way.

The Fruits Of Self-Control

Are more than I could list here. But let’s go through some of them. Virtue is not its own reward if you ask me, however, when applied properly virtue does have a reward. So for example when you’re what most people call “virtuous” to a scumbag you get taken advantage of and therefore people declare virtue is foolishness but I’d say that’s a limited perspective. So yes treating unworthy people with virtue will lead to getting taken advantage of and is also foolish, which since wisdom is a virtue is not virtuous.

However when you use virtue in your own life you reap rewards, especially with people who are worthy of that virtue or at least parts of it. Virtue when combined with strength and wisdom produced a fruitful life filled with the things that you want whether bills that are paid, land that is well tended, family that is healthy, a community that thrives, protection from wars and pestilence, and so on and so forth.

It can create a stable life, a life where you feel good and at ease. You’ll feel that way because instead of being in a tug boat being tossed back and forth in a sea of your desire you’ll be a Man-O-War crashing through the waves confidently. Maybe not a perfect analogy but none are. You get what I’m saying, now apply it to your life.
