Be The Light Upon The Hill

What is the point of it all? I’m sure at some point in our work we have all felt this. For example when writing this blog sometimes I wonder the same thing. After all this doesn’t make that much money (especially compared to the effort) but then I’ll get an email about a kid who has completely turned his life around. About how he was miserable, depressed, and without guidance and upon finding my writings he was able to discover something deep down inside of him that he never knew existed. And it’s that, that that keeps me going. That keeps fingers to keyboard regardless of anything else.

Don’t get me wrong I enjoy writing, but for every word I write here I could make literally 100x the amount writing a word of copy. And yet I keep returning here to share all that I have learned and to show the way for those that are lost and looking for guidance in a world that does everything (and I mean everything) in its power to keep them confused and depressed. To be that light upon a hill that all can see and get guidance from. For those that are lost in the dark and feel hopeless.

Keeping Even One From The Gun

It’s not secret that suicide rates for males have been increasing and are continuing to increase. I think deep down people know why this is but to admit it would require delusions our society has been based on for some time now. I recently read a piece that Rollo shared about a guy who was a incel you can read the piece here (incel is someone who is involuntarily celibate). An omega is another word that is often used to describe them, they are beyond beta. I think of many kids like him (though he ended up alright thanks to the manosphere) end up either taking their own life or turning their rage towards the society that has rejected and lied to them.

I remember kids like this in school. And while I knew those kids would never have listened to me then (after all I was an “dumb jock” so what would I know?) but with writing I can reach many like them. Sure many will reject my message but if I can keep even one from the gun, either using it on himself or on others. Then what I have written will be more than worth it. Sure not all examples are going to be that extreme but even taking a guy from a depressed meaningless existence to one filled with life and vitality is still a victory as far as I’m concerned.

We Are Called To Lead The Way

One of the reasons that we as a society are in the shape that we are in is because we lacked examples, those that were to guide us and show us the way were cut off from us. They were declared evil, awful, and many other shame words to keep us from them. Even as strong as I was I remember being swayed by the society (school, church, and everyone else) telling me the lies that keep modern males in bondage and I can only imagine how it was for those without strong fathers and extended family. I think one of the greatest things that me and you can do as “awakened” males (no matter how far on the path we are) is to be an example for others.

To be what those coming behind us aspire to. When you look at any greatest artist, athlete, or anything else they were always inspired by those that came before them. As the saying goes “We all stand on the shoulders of giants” we as men are called to be those giants that our offspring or the next generation will be inspired by and stand upon. We must be the Achilles to the Alexanders that will come in the future. Otherwise there will be no more Alexanders. Masculinity is in crisis and because of this society as a whole is in crisis (as all is predicated on the strength of men), it’s up to us to build back what was destroyed.

Be The Light Upon The Hill

As great as modern communication is with blogs, videos, books, and more, I think that the best way to help other males who are lost is to be a living breathing example of what a man can be. I know that having grandfathers, uncles, a strong father, and males a few years older than me who helped strengthen me has had an untold impact on me and what I’ve become. And to be that role model that other men can draw strength and inspiration from is the greatest gift that I can give, is that greatest gift that you can give.

We are called to be examples and to show the way. To as I’ve said be the light upon the hill that illuminates the darkness and can be seen as far as the eye can see. It is by becoming this example that we can change the world. And not in some cheesy “We’ll change the world” like you hear on every dumb commercial geared for yuppies, but by actually having a visceral real impact on the world and the lives of men. Save the males of a society, teach them to be strong and to be men, and you’ll have saved the society itself.
