Members Only Post #98 – Preparing For The Future

So often we don’t think about a problem or work out ways to solve it until it’s bearing down upon us. This doesn’t mean we need to paranoid about everything in life or that we need to prepare to a insane level. Just that some forethought and thinking can save us heaps of trouble down the line. You’ve heard the phrase an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, well when it comes to life problems and putting some forethought into common ones I’d say it’s more like an ounce of prevention is worth five to ten pounds of cure.

Doesn’t matter what part of the world that you live in, the vast majority of people out there just don’t think. Though we humans like to talk about our “highly evolved brains” and how rational thinking makes us superior to the animals, the fact of the matter is most humans hardly if ever actually think. Sure we have the capacity too, but there’s a difference between having the capacity to do something and actually doing it. All that bragging and yet we don’t even use the damn thing. Not all, but a great many problems in life stem from not putting some damn thought into them.

And the worst time to put thought into a problem is when its right on top of you, threatening to take you down. So here I want to go through a couple common problem areas that men run into and how to go about putting in some forethought and solving them. I’ll be the first to say that at first this process can be overwhelming. When you look down the line and at all these potentially problems and think “I’ll never solve all of them.” that’s not the point and that’s not required to get benefit from this. Just put some thought into them and how you’ll handle them. That’ll give you the leg up that you need.

Common Problem Areas

So depending on who one is and what stage of life they’re in, potential problem areas could stretch far and wide. I’m going to drill down here as much as I can for problems that’ll face most men but you’ll have to come up with some categories of your own and figure them out. The first is wealth, job, making money, whatever you want to call it. I’ve written many articles on the topic but if you’ve never put thought into this do so now. For example do you trust the corporation you work for to not can you one day because of cuts? Do you want more freedom? Is where you live going to turn into a dangerous dump in the next decade?

Do you not see your wife/kids/things you want to do, ever. Because you’re so busy at work. Is this a temporary situation or is it going to be like this for the foreseeable future? How much leeway do you have? If you quit your job tomorrow, or were fired, how would you be? Biggest question, is the job you’re working going to be able to provide you with the life that you want, whatever that may be. Remember we only get one. Next let’s address health. How is your health? Let’s look at this in more ways then one.

First there’s the obvious, are you overweight? Underweight? Have health issues? What can you do to solve these? What do you know about diet? About exercise? About how the human body works? Do you think a pharmaceutical drug is the answer to everything? How is your health physically, mentally, and spiritually? Are you addicted to things? Are you consumed by numbing agents? Another aspect of health, can you defend yourself? It’s pretty unhealthy to get beat up or murdered hence why it’s in this category. Do you live in an area that in dangerous? Are you the “minority” in your area demographically? Is the culture different from yours? Are you around people “like you” with the same beliefs and such?

And so on and so forth. Health ranges from your bodyfat percentage to strength of your community, it means many different things. Let’s look at another culture and raising a family. Are you going to homeschool your kids or do you trust the government skills to instill knowledge and moral guidance in them? Does the culture around you hate families and want healthy ones destroyed? Does it glorify sickness and degeneracy or does it fight back against these things? Is this the right environment to live in yourself to raise your kids in? Or is it antithetical to all of those things? Culture is the soil that you raise your children in, it has a powerful effect, understand that.

And there are many more.

What To Do About Them

Not much, at least not right now there’s not much you have to do. Just put some damn thought into these things, put some thought into situations and problems that are going to be coming down the pipeline at some point in your life. Focus on the ones that are more urgent but give some mind space to each and every one that you can identify. It’ll save you loads of trouble down the line. Learn, research, experiment, figure things out for yourself and what works for you and what doesn’t. Don’t rely on others to do these things for you or to give you the right guidance for your life.

That’s up to you and you alone. No one else is responsible for this. Plenty of “reliable” sources will lie their faces off to you for their own ends. Don’t fall for this or end up screwed because you listened to someone who isn’t you. Only you can truly know what’s right for you life and the direction that you need to head in and the actions that you need to take. Governments, schools, religions, and so on and so forth work for their own best interest and not yours. What you see promoted on TV and such is what’s best for those that paid for it not what’s best for you. This extends into everything, literally everything.

For example, while I’m not a doctor and nothing on this blog or any word I write should ever be construed as medical advice, doctors handing out so many prescriptions drugs as opposed to saying “Eat healthy, exercise, and get some sleep, here’s some plans” is at least partway because the companies that make those drugs have a lot of money to sling around and palms get greased. Your health be damned in some cases. I’m not saying don’t listen to your doctor, of course listen. I’m just saying think, think, think about the world around you.

With so much medical professions and establishments and money being spent why is the world less healthy then its ever been? With so much schooling required why are people dumber than ever? With so much push for tolerance and diversity why are people at each other throats more than ever? With GDPs raising across many countries why do our bank accounts shrink? Why despite a country’s GDP increasing year to year does it get harder and harder to pay the rent. And so on and so forth.

Think!

It’ll do you a world of good, after some sleepless nights of course.
