How To Set Habits In Stone (Fight Further)

Today we have a guest post by FightFurther.com a website dedicated to masculine self-development and new on the scene. In this article you’ll learn all about how to make good habits stick and why that process is so essential for getting the most out of life. Enjoy.

Habits. They’ve gained a big traction in the self-help and masculine community. There is whole books and channels and blogs dedicated to giving you the habits that successful and powerful people use. I regularly come across videos and posts about “the top 10 morning habits” of some rich kid. It’s quite fun talking about them but here’s the thing, without implementation they don’t bring results.

Do you want to know the process that people will pay for hundreds of thousands of dollars for? Just a quench of this knowledge is a tight lid secret. You’ve used it before to develop habits, even if they’re destructive ones like overly excessive drinking or virtual addiction. Big companies design their products around a modified version of this process to get you to buy and use their products. Warriors use it in training and in life.

How To Make Habits Stick

Habits are formed by a simple process, you’ll be learning by remembering just seeing it. The only piece of the puzzle that you need is action, and you already have that power. Here’s how it works;

Action -> Reward -> Reminder/craving/impulse -> Repeat

For example, implementing this lets say I want to drink more water. I want to drink 8 glasses of water a day and this is my goal. First, you get a container of water (like a water bottle), fill it up and have it nearby at all time. You can choose the reminder, like at certain times or if you just feel thirsty. Then the reward. This could be a dopamine hit just from getting closer to your goal or if that is not enough, write it in a checklist of some sort with your daily goals. Then, when your water bottle is empty you immediately go refill it and repeat the process.

You even do this with natural impulses. You want to have sex, you have sex, you orgasm and then it repeats. This of course is less of a habit and more of a natural masculine impulse, but the idea is similar.

Now lets say you want to go get your fat ass to the gym and reclaim your masculinity. Because the results take take and it takes longer to get a dopamine hit (as apposed to instantly like in a video game), having a way of accountability could be needed if you don’t have the drive (yet). Get a partner or setup a system online where if you do not clock in to the gym at that time, or do not workout 30 minutes after waking up, you will pay up $100. It’s 7 o clock, better be at the gym. The reward will be the fulfillment after pumping some iron. Now you repeat.

With small tweaks, this process could make any habit stick. You have superior knowledge and you have a masculine fire inside your veins. Now the only thing you need to do is put in the work. Don’t over complicate the process, being able to walk is easy, going forward is
hard.
