How Bad Do You Want It?

When you see someone accomplish an amazing feat regardless of what it is you can be assured of one thing, they wanted it badly. When you see someone break the world record in powerlifting, come back to win the Superbowl from a greater deficit than any team ever, or survive a situation where everyone else died. It comes down to one thing, how bad they wanted it. He who wants it more is going to get it. Success in life is no different.

You have to be hungry for it. You have to want it and make it a point of focus. It is with extreme focus that incredible feats are attained. There is incredible power in singleness of purpose. Scattered energy isn’t going to do you much good. You have to learn to harness your desire and use it to push you along. To attack the challenges put before you in life with a furiosity that can only come about from singleness of purpose. The more that you want it and truly deeply want it the more likely you are to get it despite all obstacles. And trust me there will be plenty of obstacles.

The Power Of The Sun

Look at focus like the power of the sun. The sun has immerse power but displaced across all of earth it doesn’t do much compared to what it could do. Now however use a magnifying glass to focus that power and you can start a fire. You have harnessed just a small part of the sun’s immense power and focused it creating much more power then there was before. It is no different when you focus your own power. When you focus all of your might on a single objective your chances of getting it go up ten fold compared to when your focus and attention is divided.

Now imagine if you could focus even more of the power of the sun? You could power the entire earth (or destroy it) all depending on to what level you could focus it’s immense power. Learn to harness the power that is within you. Learn to concentrate on what you want and go after it until you get it. Then focus on other things. When your focus is divided you’ll never get far. Learn to maintain in other areas but only push in one. Otherwise you’re fighting a battle against yourself. You can’t chase two rabbits and doing so ensures you end up with neither.

What Are You Willing To Sacrifice?

You have to decide what you are willing to give up in order to get what you want and your willingness to do so is going to depend on how badly you want something. For example you want to have the body of an Adonis? Alright then are you willing to give up boozing on the weekend? What about soda? What about sleeping in instead of taking a run in the morning? And so on and so forth. People like the idea of success but rarely like hearing the reality of what it takes to make it. It isn’t fun, but it’s not about being fun. It’s about being worth it.

You not only have to give things up but you have to put in the work as well. So you want to make a living from a blog. You dream of chilling at your beach house spending your days chasing hot latinas while the money pours in. Well it’s not that easy. Are you willing to write 1,000 posts, find multiple monetization strategies, put in tons of work with absolutely nothing to show for it for a year or more? I hope so because otherwise you need to find something else to do. Some of you think “Yeah I still want it” and then you’ll probably make it.

What It Comes Down To

Here’s what it comes down too. How bad do you want it? Are you willing to go through any fire, get shot down multiple times, be burned, be beaten, and get knocked down over and over? Only with singleness of purpose will you make it to the top of anything. Only with singleness of purpose will you ever have any hope of achieving greatness. If you want something bad enough, you’ll get it. It’s as simple as that. If nothing will make you give in and nothing will make you give up then you’ll make it. But you gotta want it.
