Why You Should Always Burn The Ships

Whenever you give yourself a way out you are doing yourself a disservice. You are allowing there to be a retreat option. Nothing has destroyed more victories then having the option of retreat, the option of comfort and safety. When you have it all out on the line that is when you make it work or perish in the process. That is when you dig down deep and accomplish great things. Safety and comfort will keep you mired in mediocrity never destined to reach anything worthwhile.

Burn the ships and you’ll find strength that you never knew you had. When you throw it all in everything kicks into high gear. It is only when pushed to the limit that people break their bonds and grow. It is when pushed to the limit and being given no option of surrender or retreat that people find what they made of. Beware the comfortable option the comfortable option will keep you in chains. Comfort is a great lie.

No Retreat

When you set goals for yourself and you give yourself a backup plan if your goals are audacious and worth achieving at all you will have just prevented yourself from reaching them. A man doesn’t grow, achieve greatness, or find out what he is made of from the comfort of his lazy chair. It is out in the wilderness when he bit off more than he could chew and is determined to achieve it anyways. I’m a big fan of setting huge goals that you think “There is no way I could accomplish this” and then fighting like hell to accomplish them. Admittedly I don’t always accomplish them but I still go further than I ever thought I would.

Most people would caution you to take it easy and to be cautious. To not rush into action, to be “realistic” this is poisonous advice that’ll keep you from ever breaking free of your chains and achieving greatness. Never listen to the advice of average people. Throw yourself to the wolves. Throw yourself into situations where you’re not sure if you can make it. Bite off more than you can chew and then choke it down. This is how you achieve things others can only marvel at. This is how you pass into legend. This is how you get what you want from life.

Stay Hungry

You want to know when business fail, when people are attacked, when countries are infiltrated and destroyed? I’ll tell you when. When they get comfortable that’s when. Those who are comfortable are defenseless, once you think “I’ve done enough” you’re done. That’s when the wolves finally know they’ve won and it’s only a matter of time until they can close in and take everything from you. Never get complacent, always stay hungry. Keep that fire in your soul. Never think that you have enough, no matter what lies you are told.

Stay sharp a dull blade is of little use when you need it. This doesn’t mean you have to be paranoid simply that you are always on your game and never let yourself get too comfortable. This applies to all things your relationship with women/woman, your business, and above all else your own personal development. It is never enough, ever. You are either growing everyday or losing, there is standing still. Stagnation gives way to rot, action gives way to growth. Always be prepared for whatever could be around the corner.

Don’t Schedule Ahead

I have a goal of writing at least 1,000 posts for this blog to share what I have learned with people like you so that you may benefit and then in turn help others. So that this knowledge can spread and cause a renaissance of masculinity across the land. Perhaps that’s a high goal but like I said above, those are my favorite kind. But anyways to do this lately I’ve been writing seven posts a day to reach that number quicker so that I can grow quicker. At first I had them scheduled out and was nearly two months ahead with my scheduling.

But then I thought why wait to get this information out? What good does this information do as a draft in my wordpress file? It does nothing, other than give me some comfort that I won’t have to crank out posts for at least a little bit. So I changed my schedule. I am going to be posting them twice a day if not three times depending on they stack up. Fuck comfort, without that safety net it’ll force me to grow to bring you more posts and value. A win win for both me and you. I grow and you get more information that can improve your life.

Summary

Burn the ships behind you. Don’t give yourself the option of surrender, retreat, or to give in. Throw yourself to the wolves and then fight like hell to get out of it. Then throw yourself to even badder wolves. Sink or swim, thrive or die. That is life. Burning the ships gives you access to that deep fire and power within your soul. That power that few will ever access because comfort has prevented them from doing so. The great thing is once you have access to that fire you know it is always there. So go out and burn the ships and achieve greatness.
