Make Time To Read

If there is one trait that makes successful people stand out from the unsuccessful it’s that the successful are voracious readers. Even a man who is dedicated to taking action isn’t going to go far if he doesn’t have the information to get him where he wants to go. How many hard working people do you see doing the same thing day in and day out, perhaps working even harder and harder at something with little to nothing to show for it. I can think of many. It’s a shame and it doesn’t have to be this way.

However if you told these people that there was another way and that they didn’t have to go the way that they were going most would shrug you off refusing to believe, only a few would listen. Of those that listened if you told them simply reading a book a week. A non-fiction book in what they want to get ahead in could completely change their life, most would tell you that they simply don’t have the time to read. Which a good answer is always “make time” but nevertheless they’d shrug it off and go back to their mindless tasks until throw into desperate times or they went to the grave.

Make Time

If you’re trying to “find” time for something you’ll never find it. After all time isn’t something that is found it’s something that is made. If something is important to you you make time for it, simple as that. If you’re not single imagine you are and imagine the two most gorgeous woman in the world called you and said that they wanted to have an all night threesome with you at a fancy suit at the nicest hotel but you had to get there now. Do you think you’d respond with “Alright I’ll try to find some time”. Hell no you’d just do it.

You’d do it because you know what they payoff is going to be. Well you have to do the same with reading. Sure reading isn’t going to be as enticing as the two most gorgeous women but there is still many benefits to it. And it can change your life and lead you to where you want to go. Knowledge is power and trust me to get where you want to go you are going to need power, and lots of it. You can never be too powerful that’s for damn sure. So you need to make time for it, but here are some ways to make it a little easier.

Have Set Times For Reading

Make time in your schedule for reading obviously depending on who you are and what you do this is going to change for you but here I’m going to offer some suggestions to get you started. First off keep a book by the bathroom. Instead of wasting time playing games on your phone or mindlessly browsing the internet take a book to the rest room with you. I never got without one as I hate wasting my time. Having a book in there with nothing to do pretty much guarantees you’ll start reading it.

Read before going to bed. Before bed simply open a book and start reading until you get tired then put it aside and go to sleep. This is great for those who have trouble sleeping at night. Or if you’re more of a morning person it could be the first thing you do in the morning. You could have it with your cup of tea or glass of water when you first wake up. There is something special about early morning reading and it helps to get your mind working and running after waking up from a good nights sleep.

Prioritize

You have to prioritize what’s important to you in life. What’s more important to you? Your development or your comfort? it doesn’t matter what you tell me or what you tell others but whats actually important to you deep down. This will be obvious by the actions that you do or don’t take. For example when you make time to read you show that your development is important to you and that reading is important to you.

Prioritize your life and find time to read. Reading good non-fiction especially when it’s about whatever part of your life you’re trying to better is always worth it. If you’re struggling with business then read books about business, struggling with dating then read books about dating, struggling with weight then read books about dieting, and so on and so forth. There is a ton of information that is available to us and we’d be fools not to make the most out of it. Read and then take action.
