How To Expand Your Social Circle, Get Accepted, & Become A Leader

This is a weekly column by Stefan Simonovic. Stefan runs multiple dating sites and writes about dating for men. In this article Stefan talks about the best ways to expand your social circle and become a leader. Enjoy.

Being accepted in this modern day and age is definitely one of the hardest tasks out there, especially for young people. However, since they have a hard time achieving this particular goal, most youngsters are trying to find their place in the world by being popular on the Internet. They’re desperately trying to connect with famous people via Twitter and Facebook in order to get recognized online. Of course, if this doesn’t work, there are always good old celebrity Snapchats. This strategy can be effective, but it’s simply not good enough. If you truly wish to expand your social circle, get accepted by the wider crowd, and become a successful leader of your own group, make sure to follow these simple but essential steps.

Don’t Be Afraid To Meet New People (Reach Out)

There are many antisocial people out there who are not even trying to change that about them. If you’re one of those people, but you want to expand your social circle, you need to work on yourself. The first step is always the hardest, but you can’t expect new people to simply appear in your life all by themselves. You need to leave all of your doubts and fears behind, collect your courage, and reach out. This is literally the only way you’ll be able to meet new people.

Listen What Others Have To Say And Respect Their Opinions

After you make new friends and colleagues you’ll need to work on your listening skills. The very fact that you managed to step out of your comfort zone means that your confidence will most likely skyrocket. Many people become overconfident and arrogant at this point, but that’s the worst possible thing you could do. Instead, you have to stay humble, listen to your friends, and respect their opinions and suggestions. This way, you’ll earn their respect and that’s extremely important.

Empathy Is Crucial

Where would we be without empathy? The answer is nowhere! This should definitely be your policy once you become an important and respected part of your group. People around you need to know that you can feel their pain and share their happiness. If you manage to do that, they’ll be there for you, always. Mutual empathy will help you create a stronger bond which means your group will be able to survive in this cruel and unforgiving world.

Keep Your Promises

If you follow the previous three steps correctly, you’ll probably become the leader or one of the leaders of your little society. It doesn’t matter if that group is business-related or just a group of good friends, you’ll need to learn how to lead your people forward. Best way to do that is to keep every single one of your promises. A lot of leaders are good with words, but unfortunately, very few of them follow through. If you want to be a great leader and have an army of loyal friends behind you, make sure to deliver on your promises.

Know How To Inspire, Teach, And Motivate Your People

A great and successful leader needs to know how to get through to his friends, co-workers, and partners. Remember, it’s not about giving orders, it’s about inspiring, motivating, and teaching your people. If you want to be accepted as their main man or woman, you need to help them grow and improve every single day.
