The Bucket Of Crabs & Humanity

I started writing in order to enhance the lives of other men and hopefully make some money doing so. As the great Zig Ziglar said “You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want” which is what I aim to do. To tell men the much needed truth that will not be told to them by those around them. Their parents, peers, media, government, friends, and others will not tell them the truth. Most simply because they don’t know the truth themselves or because they fear the repercussions of uttering the truth.

I love hearing feedback about how my articles or books have helped people. To know that I made a difference in the life of a man means a lot. However I have learned something else through my journey into the masculine self-improvement field. And that is there are those who will resist changing and growing no matter what and not only will they resist change and growth but will sabotage anyone around them who they feel make be changing and growing as well. And as far as the average person goes this seems to be pretty par for the course, as unfortunate as that is.

The Bucket Of Crabs

I’ve cautioned you about avoiding toxic people before, they’ll destroy any good that you have because they don’t have anything good themselves. You can’t help them and just need to get away from them. When you look at it the vast majority of humanity is like a bucket of crabs. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a bucket of crabs but let me describe it for you. In a bucket of crabs there are all trying to get out of the bucket the are jostling over one another to get out and climbing over each other.

No surprise there however this is where things get interesting. Whenever one does get a leg up all the other crabs pull that one back down into the masses preventing any crabs from getting out of the bucket. In order for a crab to get out of the bucket he has to fight off all the other crabs that will try to bring him (and any other crab) back down if he gets above them. Making it so all the crabs stay in the bucket even if the bucket would be easy to get out of on their own. Humanity acts in the very same way. Anytime anyone rises the masses work to bring that person back down so that they don’t rise above them.

They Don’t Want You To Rise

Here’s the truth of the matter your friends, family, and especially coworkers often don’t want you to rise and will even work to prevent you from doing so. They will sabotage you in a number of ways, you have to be prepared and ready for this. They might not even do it out of hatred for your rise but because they are scared of you changing or losing you. There is a certain comfort in mediocrity, a sick comfort no doubt. But a comfort nonetheless. A sick trend that I’ve seen lately is people (typically middle aged (30+) married couples) talking about how they’ve “given up” and how that’s something to joke about.

Often their friends and family will encourage this. Slaves find comfort in mediocrity and they want everyone else to be slaves like them. In the case of family members they may just want you to be closer to them in the case of coworkers they don’t want anyone who might be a threat to them. And so on and so forth. People don’t want to have to take action or have to look in the mirror and realize that their slaves/losers. And when others ascend it makes them cognizant of this fact. If everyone gets pulled down then they can just sit on their asses and not worry for the rest of their lives. They believe if no one ascends they can pretend like it isn’t possible and therefore don’t have to get uncomfortable (their number one goal).

Slaves Can’t Show You Freedom

You may love you family and they may love you back. But in order to ascend you may have to cut them or at the very least ignore them. The mass of humanity is slaves, including loved ones. A slave cannot show you freedom and a slave will always want you to be a slave with him. Freedom is dangerous and risky and the typical slave simply wants comfort. A slave will try to dissuade you of your desire for freedom. Tell you that it’s not worth it or that it’s not possible. But you must ignore the slave if you want to be free.

You must think as a free man. You must find others who are living free and learn from them. Most often this will not be the people who are around you. It will not be friends, family, or coworkers. You’ll have to go out and seek freedom minded people. I had to look for these people through books, blogs, and videos. I could find none around me. Then I had to immerse myself in their mindset of freedom to override the mindset that I had been taught by my parents, the schools, and media. Slave can not teach how to attain freedom and will do everything in their power to bring you back down to their level.

Summary

The bucket of crabs is a perfect analogy to describe humanity. The mediocre always try to pull down anyone who isn’t mediocre or has the potential to rise above. Others do no want you to attain freedom they want you to be a slave like them, a comfortable slave. Little do they know that it’s that comfort that’ll end up being their death. Then again many slaves would rather die comfortable than live free. Choose freedom over slavery. Break free from the bucket and get the life that you want.
