Are You Prepared?

Are you prepared for the future?

Do you think you have enough?

Do you have enough?

How do you know?

Be Prepared

I don’t mean to sound like a prophet of doom and gloom. I cannot predict the future. But I do know this. Life has a way of throwing curves at you when you are least ready for them. The worst time for things to happen is generally the exact time when they do happen.

Because of this smart people prepare. They save money, they don’t live from paycheck to paycheck. They realize that just because things are going well doesn’t mean it’s time to coast. They understand that a day of hard work doesn’t mean a day of rest tomorrow.

Do you understand this?

Do you spend money on things you don’t need? On items that will bring your a quick buzz but nothing else.

Success

Achieving success is great. Accomplishing your goals gives you a deserved healthy good feeling. However this can be a problem when an individual let’s those feelings distract him from his grind, from his hustle. So he get’s distracted. He relaxes more than he should, he get’s lazy. Then before he knows it he is not ready for change when it comes and change inevitably comes.

You never know what’s around the corner. Because of this you must always be prepared. Always on your grind and building. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy life simply that once you have achieved a certain level of success doesn’t mean you can coast.

Coasting equals death.

In money, in personal development, in life. Coasting leads to downfall. The moment you think you can rest on your laurels is the moment when fate will make you its victim. I’m not saying to be negative or pessimistic simply to stay at your grind, day in and day out.

Be A Hunter

If you keep hunting you will keep eating. Just because you got a big kill doesn’t mean you can sit back. You must always stay sharp, prepared for what may be around the next bend.

Be adaptable. The world is constantly changing and those who do not adapt to it will die out. Survival of the fittest. This does not just happen in nature but in the business world as well. Look at recessions. When recessions hit many people lose their jobs.

Why is this?

They lose their jobs because they were not top performers. They were not indispensable. They were the poor and average hunters who probably shouldn’t have been one in the first place. It is possible to grow and excel in a recession. If you are the hungriest hunter. The top performers do not fear recessions, depressions, or anything else that the market/world may throw at them.

They do not fear it because they are prepared. Because when things were going well they weren’t sitting on their asses coasting. No, they were learning, improving, saving, and growing. They worked their asses off in the summer because they know that the winter will be coming. They look ahead so that they can be prepared for whatever is coming. They pay attention to the change in the weather so it’s no surprise when winter comes.

Look Ahead

The present holds hints about the future is you stop and pay attention to them. Where do you think your home country is going to be in five years? Ten? Fifty?

Where will you be in five, ten, fifty years? What does the future hold? How can preparing now change what will happen then?

You should always be able to take a hit. In finances, in relationships, in everything in life. Because you will eventually have to take a hit in every area of your life. This scares those who are not prepared while those are prepared are aware of this and accept it. Then do all they can to be even better prepared for it.

For example let’s say you open a store and are making one thousand a month from the store. Enough for you to pay all your expenses and live off of. You could think “great I’ve made it” or you could realize that the in the future your needs may change. So instead you set a goal of making ten thousand a month. Then you work day and night to accomplish it.

Always be prepared. For troubles, for problems, for opportunity, and yes even for the good times. Enjoy them but don’t get lazy.
