3 Activities With Huge ROIs

In a previous article we talked about the different categories of activities and the difference between real work and fake work. We talked about the danger of fake work because it mimics certain parts of real work and can make you feel like you’re getting things done when you’re really just wasting time. We talked about how it is important to fill up your life with category 1 activities which are activities that add to your development and further your growth. Today I am going to share with you three activities that have incredibly high ROIs and have done much to further my growth and development.

As men we are always trying to ascend to new heights and conquer new ground. Or at least we should be. We work day and night to turn our weakness into strength and our strength into dominance. The only way to do this and do this consistently is to make good use of our time. Which means that we fill our time with activities that are going to add to our development and life. Activities that have incredibly high ROIs and are going to give us the most bang for our buck. Do these three activities below and it won’t be long before you’ll be surpassing all your peers.

Activity #1 – Read Non-Fiction Books

Reading was and really is the base of my transformation. It is the reason where I am today. Without reading I would be lost and adrift in this world. I was not given anything I needed to succeed. With money, with women, nor with life from my upbringing and “education”. It was until I heard somewhere that the average millionaire reads X number of books a month (I don’t remember the exact number now) combined with a couple other things. I used to read a lot when I was a kid and decided to start at it again. At first it took me three months to get through one book.

Now I read two a week while retaining all the information I need. The reason I kept at reading even though it was a struggle at first was because I saw my life improve with every non-fiction book I read and truth be told I wasn’t reading anything that good in the beginning. Now I know the all masters of their craft have read and read often. Put simply if you want to get anywhere in this life then you gotta read son.

Activity #2 – Listen To Audio Recordings

I used to waste time driving and while doing yard work and such. I would listen to music which at best gave me a momentary boost in mood but little more. Now I replace the time wasted driving around with turning my drives into another avenue for my education. Unless I’m going out or want to relax on a particular night I don’t listen to music anymore. When I am driving about I have turned my car into my own personal classroom.

I listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and videos that add to my education and skill sets. What use to be drudgery now makes me sharper and better. Not that I necessarily look forward to long drives in the car but now I know that at least some good will come out of it. A drive to the bank can turn into a extra thousand dollars in advice learned and so on and so forth. Turn every moment of your into advancement and success is guaranteed to be yours.

Activity #3 – Take Courses

Earlier in my life if someone would have said they were paying 1000$ to take a course that wasn’t required for school but to learn a skill I would have said that they were an idiot. Now I see that it was me who was the idiot. There are a variety of courses you can take now to learn or further develop and refine your skills. There are courses on combat, sales, picking up women and so much more that can teach you so much. Some people will spend hundreds of dollars on clothing (not suits but random crap), food, and entertainment while thinking investing half that amount in their education is stupid.

I should note that when I mean courses I don’t mean the kind at the nearest indoctrination/debt center (college) but rather courses taught by professionals or through sites. The best investment that you will and can ever make is the investment that you make into yourself. After all it is the one investment that all successful people share. You can learn so much from courses, if all you are focused on is the money and not the benefits of taking the course you’ll always remain poor and never achieve the quality of life you want. You can’t nickel and dime your way to riches anyways.

Summary

All of these activities have great ROIs (return on investments). Spending a good chunk of your time doing the above will result in living a level of life higher than most. You’ll have leveled up your life to new levels and will experience more growth than ever before. This is how you achieve success and ultimate freedom. It all starts with making the best use of your time. The biggest loser and the great success all have the same amount of time given to them, they all have the same 24 hours in a day. What makes the difference is how they spend their time.

  1. Being a truck driver all day long I listen to audio books and
    podcasts no music!

  2. Most definitely # 3 . Any time I find out that a credible combat / or tai chi instructor is doing seminar , and my money is right I’m there I’ll make time for it ! It’s amazing you have these professional ass kickers on YouTube or black belt magazine that You can track down meet and pick there brains , yes the seminar thing is the way to go !

    • Agreed. I have quite a varied martial arts background but got the chance to dip my toes in MMA a couple years back when Roxanne Modaferri lead a workshop at my school. The moves and drills were an absolute eye-opener for me. Not because they were some kind of secret top level techniques, but because they were so outside my realm of training. Nothing beats seminars/workshops from high quality instructors.
