10 Traits Of The Most Successful

Success. Isn’t that after all what it’s all about. Success with finances, with freedom, with women, with survival, simply success with life. Is that not what we all strive for day in and day out? If you are a dedicated reader of this site then I’m willing to be that the pursuit of ultimate success takes up a good portion of your time and life. You aren’t content to sit around on your ass and whine and complain about how “unfair” life/women/whatever is you are all about solutions and taking action.

The successful exhibit different traits than the unsuccessful just like men who are successful with women exhibit certain traits that are different then males who have trouble with women. Becoming aware of these traits and seeking to emulate them will help you get a head start on your journey to becoming all that you can be and reclaiming your freedom in the process. Here are ten traits that the successful exhibit that the unsuccessful do not.

Trait #1 – Positive Attitude

When I say positive attitude I don’t mean the Disney like just believe and everything will turn out okay bullshit, rather I mean having a “can do” attitude. That when you are confronted with a problem or challenge you don’t cuddle up into a little ball and cry or whine but rather sarge out to meet that problem head on with the firm belief that it can be solved. For every problem there is a solution, when there is a will there is a way.

Trait #2 – Risk Taker

Fortune favors the bold. This applies to all facets of life. Whether it’s picking up gorgeous women, making business decisions, or simply getting the most out of life in some other capacity. You must have a high tolerance for risk taking. You must understand that you need to task risks to advance and that sitting on the sideline is no way to live life. Put another way you only score points on offense.

Trait #3 – Growth Mindset

In my book Become A King I dedicated an entire chapter to this very important topic. You can read it here. Those with growth mindsets are continually learning and growing. This is perhaps the most important facet of the successful. They continuously grow and learn. Take someone who knows nothing about a topic yet has a growth mindset, give them a year and they’ll be ahead of ninety percent of their peers by the end of it. After all mediocrity rules the marketplace.

Trait #4 – Dedicated

Greatness or success are not things that can be cultivated with a week or a month. And they can’t be cultivated by approaching something haphazardly. To become successful you have to dedicate yourself to the process. There are not true shortcuts (at least in the way short cuts are generally presented). You have to put in the work and bust your ass to become great. Day in and day out. Hot or cold, tired or strung out, happy or sad, you still have to put in the work. This separates the wannabes from the successful.

Trait #5 – Goal Oriented

Goals are essential to success. You must become a pro at goal setting. I know it’s cliche but it’s also true. You have to have something you are aiming for, a direction in which to go. Preferably written down and written down frequently. The more specific and drilled down you have where you want to go the higher your chances of getting there. In addition to having specific goals you must also have big ones. Dream big and shoot high.

Trait #6 – Reality Creators

Successful people know that they create the life that they live. They know that what is inside them in much more powerful than anything outside of them. They know they can shape their own lives to their will, if it is strong enough. Put another way successful people know that they have power, they never buy into the lie of powerlessness. They avoid victim thinking like the plague. Successful people know they can defy fate and change the way things are then go about doing so.

Trait #7 – Present Focused

Successful people don’t dwell too much on what was or what is to come. Instead they focus on what is within their power, the here and now. This in turn also makes them action focused. This isn’t to say that they don’t plan but rather that they stay in the present moment and don’t spend their time worrying about things that haven’t happened yet and may never happen. Nor do they worry about things that have already happened and therefore makes no sense to worry about.

Trait #8 – Action Oriented

This ties into the trait of being focus in the present moment. Because they are not crying over the past or worrying about the future they are instead taking action in the present moment. The present moment is all we have and when you live in it action is a natural by product. Successful people have a bias for action and live by General Patton’s quote “A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.”. Ideas alone do nothing for you only by taking action on those ideas will anything come about.

Trait #9 – Adaptable

This isn’t to say that they are malleable, meaning that anyone and anything can change them. Rather that they are flexible and adapt on the run. This is also a trait of great warriors. Successful people can be and generally are very stubborn. Because they’ve gotten to where they were by ignoring the majority and going their own way. However they know how to make minor changes as needed and to do so quickly.

Trait #10 – Reach Out

While cultivating independence for themselves and becoming the best they can be successful people also reach out to others. They reach out to others because they know that there is always someone who knows more than they do and has connections that they do not. They don’t isolate themselves and hope for the best but proactively build relationships with those around them. Then call on those relationships when needed. You’ve probably heard the saying that “It’s not what you know but who you know”. While not one hundred percent true it does illustrate a very important point. Reach out.

Summary

So there you have it. A very broadsided look at traits that make up the successful. It we really got down to it we could probably figure out hundreds of traits but these ten will set you up in the right direction. Success in life shouldn’t be optional. It is something that you must strive for everyday. It is worth it in the end.
